Social Security Disability
We Can Help You You Seek Social Security Disability Benefits
Do I Qualify For Social Security Disability Benefits?
In order to qualify for Social Security Disability, you must be unable to work for a period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months. By definition, not being able to work is not just the last job you were doing prior to the onset of the alleged disability, but any type of comparable job in the workplace based on work history, skills, age, education and the ability to physically do the requirements of the job.
What Type Of Benefits Can I Seek?
There are two different types of disability benefits:
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
SSI cases are means-tested, based on income in your possession, whereas Social Security Disability Insurance cases are not, and generally pay a higher disability amount. How much is paid in federal taxes over 10 quarters will determine what type of disability you are eligible for when applying for benefits, provided you meet the medical disability requirements.
